The Beginner Guitar Course (Level 1) is designed for students ages seven and above without prior experience. This course provides a structured introduction to chords, melodies, rhythm, and music reading to build a solid foundation for future learning.

Students will learn basic strumming, melody playing, and rhythm exercises, allowing them to play simple songs independently. The course emphasizes finger coordination, chord transitions, and timing to develop confidence in playing.

By the end of Level 1, students will be able to play essential songs using open chords and melodies, read simple tablature, and maintain rhythm while playing.

Introduction to Guitar & Playing Techniques

  • Understanding guitar parts, tuning, and posture
  • Holding a pick and strumming correctly
  • Finger exercises for dexterity and control

Reading Music & Playing Simple Melodies

  • Learning basic notation & tablature (TAB)
  • Playing single-note melodies on E, B, and G strings
  • Reading rhythm and note values (quarter, half, whole notes)

Basic Chords & Strumming Patterns

  • Introduction to open chords (C, G, D, Em, Am, A7)
  • Switching between chords smoothly
  • Simple strumming patterns in 4/4 and 3/4 time signatures

Rhythm & Timing Development

  • Understanding beat counting and tempo control
  • Clapping and strumming along with a metronome
  • Learning rests and strumming accents

Simple Songs & Exercises

  • Playing basic songs using chords and melody
  • Combining chords and simple fingerpicking
