Course description
The Advanced Guitar Course (Level 3) is designed for students who have completed Level 2 or have strong chord, rhythm, and melody-playing skills. This level introduces advanced barre chords, lead guitar techniques, fingerpicking patterns, and improvisation to develop full musical independence.
Students will focus on lead playing, dynamic fingerpicking, and rhythmic diversity, learning to improvise and arrange songs with greater fluency. The course also introduces essential soloing techniques, enabling students to play melodic lead lines, expressive bends, and phrasing variations.
By the end of Level 3, students will have mastery over rhythm and lead guitar techniques, be able to perform confidently, and start exploring their own musical creativity through improvisation and songwriting.

Mastering Barre Chords & Power Chords
- Refining barre chords (Major, Minor, 7th, Suspended, etc.)
- Learning power chords & movable chord shapes
- Practicing smooth transitions and chord embellishments
Lead Guitar Techniques & Improvisation
- Playing Major & Minor scales across the fretboard
- Introduction to hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides & bends
- Learning vibrato and melodic phrasing for expressive playing
- Exploring simple improvisation techniques over chord progressions
Fingerpicking & Hybrid Picking
- Learning Travis picking and classical fingerpicking patterns
- Combining fingerpicking with chords and melody
- Using hybrid picking for dynamic lead playing
Advanced Rhythm & Strumming Techniques
- Playing in odd time signatures (5/4, 7/8, etc.)
- Understanding syncopation, percussive strumming & muting techniques
- Developing complex strumming patterns for advanced songs
Arranging & Songwriting Basics
- Understanding song structure & composition techniques
- Creating chord-melody arrangements

Goal: By the end of Level 3, students will be able to play advanced chord progressions, perform lead guitar techniques, and confidently arrange or improvise their own music.

Who is this course for?
This course is for students who have completed Level 2 or are already comfortable with chord progressions, scales, and basic improvisation.
Do I need an acoustic or electric guitar?
An acoustic guitar is recommended, but electric guitars can also be used for lead playing practice.
How long does it take to complete Level 3?
This course typically takes 12-14 months, depending on student progress and practice dedication.
Will I learn how to solo?
